Tirana, any tips?
Booked a couple of days there next week, at £30 the flight and £20 B&B it seemed rude not to. Will probably just end up in a pub in all honesty but if I do get a flash of inspiration……

Guessing I’ll end up in the SPLAT & Carrot.

COYI.

Me, I book trips when I have no work. Pretty limited to where I can go these days tho. Pre Brexit I’d probably just go to the canaries for some cheap winter sun but I need all my Eu days for work.

Who in their right mind would book a trip to Tirana of all places?

Went in 1989 but I doubt anything from that trip would be of any use. Took three days to get there by bus but I guess you won't be doing that

So yes my only tip is to fly rather than going by bus

Went almost exactly two years ago and I REALLY liked it.

Can't remember an awful lot - we drove around and went to Prizren in Kosovo for a night as well. We did the bunker museum, and I planned a walking tour along all the main sights - there are some cool places to see.

Ate one night at the Tartuf Restaurant in the castle - we love truffle and it was spectacular. And cheap. Lots of cheap bars. Lots of 'trendy' bars near Enver Hoxha's house which were nice enough but dull, and overpriced for bottled beer. I mention this because on the opposite side of the road at one point (Google "Kaon Beer, 8RC9+R66, Rruga Deshmoret e 4 Shkurtit, Tirana", almost exactly opposite this place - https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g294446-d25276927-Reviews-Mulliri_Vjeter-Tirana_Tirana_County.html) was this brilliant little 'old man'-type place. No English spoken, very 'real'. Wine in a plastic cannister that hadn't been touched in a long time. Loved it.

Try the Boum-Dee-Ay.

Joe. According to TripAdvisor one of the top attractions is the House of Leaves Museum so your idea of an extended pub session is probably the best
